High School Basketball Coach Investigated For Alleged Dog Fighting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating a high school basketball coach for allegedly hosting dog fights, as well as breeding dogs to fight.

The 53-year-old, Nick Lackovich, is the head boys basketball coach at Aliquippa High School and is a Beaver County probation officer, according to the Tribune-Review.

He is still working at the high school since he has not been formally charged.

However, the Trib reports that authorities searched his home in Center Township back in August.

Reportedly authorities were tipped off by a neighbor who claimed to go to a dog fight at Lackovich's home and a neighbor who also said there had been "increased traffic in the area," says the Trib.
