Allegheny Intermediate Unit Hit By Ransomware Attack

HOMESTEAD, Pa. (KDKA) -- A local education agency was hit by a ransomware attack.

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit said part of its network was hit with malware and it received demands for money.

AIU said experts investigated the attack and restored the system to prevent future incidents.

They're not sure if anyone's personal information was compromised, so they're urging employees to check their accounts.
