Ohio Air Force Base: There Was 'No Real World Active Shooter Incident'

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - An Air Force base in Ohio says a 911 call during a training exercise set off reports of an active shooter that sent dozens of security forces and other emergency responders to the base.
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base says someone called 911 Thursday during the exercise that included an active shooter scenario at a separate location.
The base says the call sent authorities to the hospital. During their investigation, a security team member shot his firearm to open a locked door. That gun discharge happened after the active shooter reports.
Wright-Patterson says via Twitter that base personnel remain safe.
The base had sent a tweet early saying it was responding to a "reported Active Shooter incident."
The sprawling base has about 27,000 civilian employees and military personnel.
