Access Van Slides Down Hill In Bethel Park, 2 Injured

BETHEL PARK (KDKA) - Two people were injured when an Access van slid down a hill in Bethel Park Wednesday morning.

According to police, the incident happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Altherton Drive at an assisted living home.

The driver, believed to be a female staff member, was preparing to take a resident to an unknown location in the van this morning.

"We're looking into the possibility that the woman was a staff member. She had loaded one of the residents of the home into the van and it went out of gear and down the driveway and over the yard and into the woods with a resident inside," Bethel Park Police Chief Timothy O'Connor said.

The male resident uses a wheelchair and was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital. Meanwhile, the woman was taken to St. Clair Hospital.
