7-Eleven Filling Anything "Resembling A Cup" With Slurpee

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- 7-Eleven is celebrating Slurpee's 50th birthday with a nationwide BYOCup event.

Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19, you can walk into any participating 7-Eleven store between the hours of 11 a.m. And 7 p.m. and walk away with brain freeze.

Slurpee lovers can bring "anything remotely resembling a cup" to stores and fill 'er up for just $1.50, which is the average cost of a medium Slurpee.

But, we are a nation of laws, so there are a few rules.

- Cups must fit upright through an in-store display with a 10-inch diameter hole.
- Cups cannot be more than nine inches wide and 11 inches tall and must be leak-proof, safe and
sanitary.
- That means no trash cans, trash bags, kiddy pools or kitchen sinks.

Once you get your fill, you can head to social media to share with your friends. 7-Eleven is using the hashtag #BYOCupDay so people can show off their giant drinks.

People have already flexed their creativity, using jugs, pitchers and even stranger objects to carry their drink
