65-year-old man killed in crash in Butler County

Man killed in head-on crash along Route 422 in Butler County

PROSPECT, Pa. (KDKA) - A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after what state police have called the results of a driver being under the influence. 

It was a tragic scene overnight as the deadly crash happened at an intersection in Prospect around 1:20 a.m. 

Two cars were traveling along a stretch of New Castle Road when the first car, a silver Honda, was traveling eastbound driven by 24-year-old Kassandra Clyde. The second car, a red Toyota, was traveling westbound and driven by 65-year-old James Barge. 

Investigators have said that Clyde was intoxicated and at some point approached the intersection with Unionville Road and that is where her car crossed the center line and collided with Barge's head-on. 

Barge died at the scene and Clyde was taken to the hospital where her condition remains unknown. 

State Police are still investigating the crash and said they hope to know more in the coming days.
