6 Aggressive Pit Bulls Taken From Crime Scene In Wilkins Twp.

WILKINS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Six pit bulls that were chained to trees in the backyard of a Wilkins Township home where a man was shot to death on Monday have disappeared.

Jerit Love, 32, was found fatally shot near the front door of his Highland Avenue home Monday afternoon.

Four pit bulls were immediately removed from the home that day by Animal Control officers.

But they left six other aggressive dogs chained to trees outside because police thought it was too dangerous to take them away immediately.

On Tuesday, when Animal Control went back to the home to get the dogs left behind, someone had already taken them.

There have been no arrests in Love's murder.

Police said Love was raising and training the dogs for fighting.
