5 Allegheny County Jail Employees Suspended

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Five employees at the Allegheny County Jail have been suspended without pay after an employee brought a gun to work.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, all five employees are guards.

Sources say earlier this month, one of the employees walked into the lockup with her personal handgun.

A spokesperson for the jail said the issue was reviewed, and although proper security protocols were in place, it was determined that employees had violated jail policy.
