Police Arrest 3 In McKeesport Supermarket Robbery

McKEESPORT (KDKA) -- Two teenagers and an adult have been arrested for robbing a supermarket in McKeesport and assaulting the store's manager.

Police say the teenagers hid in the Shop 'n Save on Fifth Avenue on Friday night until after it closed.

Once the manager locked the doors, investigators say the teens attacked him.

Police say they had a knife, tied the manager's hands and feet, sprayed a cleaning chemical into his eyes and demanded cash.

The manager was eventually able to free himself and call 911.

Police arrested the suspects Monday. They are identified as 15-year-old Derek McDaniels, 16-year-old Essence Nicholas and 18-year-old Kanaada Ball.

Police say several pieces of evidence at the scene helped lead them to the suspects.

They were arraigned this evening in night court.
