2016 Great Race Course Map

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The 39th annual "Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race" is going on this weekend.

The race, presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, is a 6.2 mile course stretching from Frick Park to downtown. The event will take place on Sunday, September 25.

Ramp closures will occur according to the following schedule:

  • I-376 Parkway East - Stanwix Street (Exit 70D) off-ramp will close from 6 a.m. until approximately 11:15 a.m.
  • I-376 Parkway East - Blvd. of Allies/Liberty Bridge (Exit 72B) off-ramp will close from 6 a.m. until approximately 11:15 a.m.
  • I-376 Parkway West - Blvd. of Allies/Liberty Ave/Consol Center (Exit 70A) off-ramp will close from 6 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m.

Traffic will be controlled by local police.  Traffic will be detoured.

Parkway East motorists should use the Grant Street (Exit 71A) off-ramp.  Parkway West motorists can follow I-376 East to Grant Street (Exit 71A) or use northbound I-279 to access the city.

The event includes a 5k run/walk, runnign clinic, two-day exposition and children's race.
