2 Injured In Crash On Route 8 In Shaler Twp.
SHALER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Route 8 in Shaler Township had to be closed in both directions Monday night following an accident that sent two people to the hospital.
It happened around 10:20 p.m. along Route 8 at E. Pennview Street, in front of the McDonald's.
One of the drivers was trapped in their car and had to be extricated by Fire and EMS crews.
Both drivers involved in the crash were taken to the hospital for treatment. Nobody else was in either of the vehicles involved.
The Allegheny County Police Homicide-Accident Investigation Unit is helping Shaler Police with the investigation into how this crash happened.
Route 8 was closed between Saxonburg Boulevard and Spencer Lane for around three hours.
