1 Wounded In Home Invasion, Shooting In Penn Hills

PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a violent home invasion and shooting in Penn Hills.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, it happened around 8:15 a.m. in a home on Lawton Avenue.

Police say two suspects entered the home and the victim was shot multiple times.

Authorities say the victim was related to the owner of the home and was staying there to help out with her children while she recovered from the flu.

The kids had already gone to school and were not home when it happened.

The Post-Gazette reports the victim was able to walk to the ambulance and talked to police at the scene.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, police said. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The suspects are believed to have gotten away in a car, the Post-Gazette reports.

Allegheny County Police continue to investigate.
