1 Student Injured In School Bus Pepper Spray Incident

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - One student was hurt Monday morning when someone sprayed pepper spray at a school bus Downtown.

The incident happened near the intersection of Washington Place and Centre Avenue.

The bus was full of children, and was on its way to the Pittsburgh Obama School at the time.

The students say they were looking out an open window when someone drove past and sprayed pepper spray on them.

"The kids started screaming and you could feel it in your face," said 8th Grader Kailey Greil.

One student was treated at the scene after pepper spray got into her eyes. The rest of the students got onto another bus and were taken to school.

"That's pretty terrible," said Jason Hall of Garfield. "That ain't nothing but kids going here, so I don't understand why anybody would want to do that."

Police are still trying to find the person responsible, but say the suspect was driving in a white SUV.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
