1 Killed In Crash On Route 819 In Bell Twp.

BELL TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- One person is dead following an accident Wednesday afternoon in Westmoreland County.

The crash happened around 3:40 p.m. on Route 819, near the junction with Route 66 in Bell Township.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 39-year-old Linda Williams of Hempfield Township. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the coroner's office, Williams was driving her Ford Escape northbound on Route 819 when she crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, hit an embankment and went airborne.

Williams was ejecting her from the vehicle, which rolled over several times and landed on its roof.

The coroner's office says witnesses reported see Williams car driving erratically and speeding just before the crash.

An autopsy will be performed.
