Stabbing Leaves 1 Dead Outside North Shore Bar

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man was fatally stabbed outside a strip of bars on the North Shore early Sunday morning.
It happened around 2 a.m. in the 300 block of North Shore Drive, just as the popular hot spots were closing and patrons were going home.
According to the criminal complaint, there were eyewitnesses, cell phone video and a surveillance video from outside Tequila Cowboy.
The restaurant manager, Chad Conner, showed KDKA-TV how 24-year-old Joden Rocco, the man apprehended for the stabbing, tried to get into the restaurant patio at 2 a.m. just minutes before the stabbing. Rocco wasn't wearing a shirt at the time.
"A little amped up. I think something happened down the street. He was coming this way and he went back that way. A little, I guess, agitated or maybe a little aggressive," Conner said.
According to the criminal complaint, two police officers working security outside Burn and Tequila Cowboy, along with eyewitnesses, noticed an agitated Rocco attack 24-year-old Dulane Cameron Jr. Witnesses began screaming, "He's been stabbed!"
Police statements say when officers reached Cameron, he was lifeless on the ground, bleeding heavily from a large stab wound to the neck. Despite efforts to save him, he died at the scene.
Shortly after the stabbing, Rocco asked a police officer near Heinz Field for a ride home to the North Hills. Police already had the suspect's description and they apprehended Rocco.
Rocco is charged with criminal homicide.
