1 Dead, 2 Injured In Carrick Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One person is dead and two others were critically injured in a one-vehicle crash Thursday night in Carrick.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. at Becks Run Road and Wagner Street, near the water treatment plant.

According to officials, the car crashed into a utility pole.

Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson Sonya Toler reports one of the passengers in the vehicle died and two others were taken to the hospital.

One went to Mercy Hospital and the other to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Both were in critical condition.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene.

The victim has not yet been identified.

Crews had to close down the road while they investigated the accident and cleared the scene.
