Young Athletes Train For Excellence With Local Super Bowl Champion
MONTGOMERY COUNTY (CBS) -- A local football star, who's now a Super Bowl champion hosts a football camp aimed at teaching kids lessons on and off the field.
Denver Broncos kicker, and North Penn alum Brandon McManus held a football skills camp Sunday at his old Montgomery County high school.
"One thing was kind of showcase kids here what I didn't have the chance to have a camp like this when I was younger," McManus said. "So I definitely wanted to give back to them."
Many of the more than 130 kids who came out to the event said they had a blast learning how to play ball from a pro.
"It's been really fun. All of the coaches are really nice," one player told KYW Newsradio.
Another player said the camp was largely beneficial for him.
"I learned how to use my skills to develop myself to be a better football player."
McManus is also using the camp as a way to raise money and awareness for his foundation the Anti bullying Squad.
"What we want to do is basically create a platform for kids to feel safe and report things they know might be wrong," he said.
