WWE Network Launches Monday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The WWE has some of the most dedicated fans in all of sports and sports entertainment. With Monday's launch of the WWE Network, the work productivity of those fans may suffer a bit in the coming weeks.

The WWE Network, a direct to consumer video service launched by the wrestling company debuts today, and is offering a one-week free trial. Subscribers of the network will receive every live weekly program that WWE produces, as well as every pay-per-view event. At $9.99 per month, the cost for a year's subscription would provide value in just two pay-per-view events, which can cost upwards of $60 each when ordered on a cable or dish service.

The network will provide video on the WWE app, which is currently available on Amazon's Kindle Fire devices; Android devices such as Samsung Galaxy; iOS devices such as Apple iPad and iPhone; Roku 2 and Roku 3 streaming devices; Sony PlayStation 3 and Sony PlayStation 4; and Xbox 360.

"Today is a historic day for WWE as we transform and reimagine how we deliver our premium live content and 24/7 programming directly to our fans around the world," Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman & Chief Executive Officer said in a statement. "WWE Network will provide transformative growth for our company and unprecedented value for our fans."

The network will also include other shows such as The Monday Night War, Wrestlemania Rewind, WWE Countdown, WWE Legends House, WWE NXT and WWE Superstars. As well, all episodes of Raw, SmackDown and Main Event will be available on-demand after they debut live.

The service launched Monday morning, and will have its first live programming during Monday Night Raw. More information can be found at WWE's official website.
