World Renowned Pianist Gives Delaware Valley Kids A Chance To Play With Him On Stage

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One hundred young pianists from around the Delaware Valley get the chance to take the stage with an internationally acclaimed piano virtuoso.
"What's on stage is 50 keyboards and one Steinway for Lang Lang and two kids sitting at each piano."
Dan Berkowitz with the Philadelphia Orchestra says this program helps inspire and motivate the kids taking part.
"Music unites us and I think you can start that at any age. To have all of these young students coming together and seeing their peers and collaborating and agreeing with one another to make something beautiful is really exciting."
Thirteen-year-old Nicholis Storti from Norristown says he's in awe that he gets to perform with Lang Lang.
"I've been practicing for about three weeks, and probably an hour a day on each piece."
The group performed Brahms's Hungarian Dance No. 5 and Schubert Marches Militaire.
