World Health Assembly Endorses Global Plan To Tackle Antimicrobial Resistance

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- When we give patients antibiotics, we're trying to kill bacteria. However, when bacteria become resistant to those antibiotics, the medicine that we use can be rendered ineffective.
They have five main objectives: to improve awareness and understanding about this, strengthen surveillance and research, reduce the incidence of infection, to improve or optimize the use of antimicrobial medicines, and ensuring sustainable investment in countering antimicrobial resistance.
This has become a worldwide issue, and it's getting worldwide attention.
