Worker Killed When Scaffolding Collapses At Industrial Site

EDISON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Investigators say a man working at an industrial complex was killed when some scaffolding collapsed and fell on him.

Edison Township police say the accident occurred around 4:10 p.m. Saturday at a Mill Road site. The man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The man was identified only as a New Brunswick resident.

No other injuries were reported in the incident, which is under investigation by township police and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Authorities did not say what type of work was being done at the site when the accident occurred.

It's not yet known what caused the scaffolding to collapse. But investigators say the matter is not considered suspicious.
