Women Of Eyewitness News Help Make Prom Special For Philadelphia Teens

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – In a show of sisterly love, CBS3 reporters are donating gently used shoes to some local teens.

It's all part of the 4th Annual Shoes for Life Community Service Project, an event run by former CBS3 reporter Elleanor Jean Hendly's charity, TeenShop.

The donated "evening shoes," which include sought-after designer brands like Badgley Mischka, will be sent off to new homes with some Philadelphia teens on April 26th -- just in time for prom night.

In addition, each pair will be "autographed" on the sole or inside by the reporter who donated them.

TeenShop, which was founded in 1985 and works to prepare teenage girls for college and careers, has three chapters in Philadelphia.

Shoes for Life is the organization's annual community service event and is run in partnership with Fairy Godmothers of PA and the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
