Woman's Body Found On Fire In Alleyway Near Chester Fine Arts Building
CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - Authorities are asking for help identifying a woman whose body was found on fire in Delaware County late Thursday night. The gruesome discovery was made just after 11 p.m. in an alleyway near the Chester Fine Arts building on East 7th Street and Sproul Streets.
When the fire department arrived on scene, they say the woman's body was still on fire. The call was originally reported to be a man but fire crews called police and they realized it was actually a woman.
She was pronounced dead Friday morning.
Police are hoping security footage from a YWCA located across the street can help them piece together how this happened.
Workers at City Team did not want to go on camera but tell CBS3 the woman had been living in the alley for several months and was known in the community, leaning in the community building for food, blankets or water.
