Woman Stabbed, Robbed In Hunting Park

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating the stabbing and robbery of a woman overnight in North Philadelphia.

It happened around 1 a.m. Monday near the 7-Eleven along the 4700 block of Mascher Street in the Hunting Park section of the city.

Police say the woman had just left the store and was driving away when her car was bumped from behind. A man wearing a ski mask approached her, stole her purse and then stabbed her in the arm and stomach.

Authorities say the woman pulled a gun and fired a shot at the suspect, but did not strike anyone.

Police say the woman was able to drive to a friends house on Wyoming Avenue where she called 9-1-1.

She was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

Police were searching for the suspect.
