Woman Rescued From Car After Crashing Into Tree In Rhawnhurst

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A driver was rescued from her car after becoming trapped after an accident in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 6 a.m. Sunday near Castor Avenue and Fox Chase Road in the city's Rhawnhurst section.

Police say the 31-year-old woman hit a tree after swerving to avoid a cat in the road.

The woman was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital where she was treated for two broken legs. There was no immediate word on her condition.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
