Woman Killed In Tiger Attack At China Zoo

BEIJING (CBS) -- A woman was killed by a tiger that attacked her at a zoo in China this weekend.

The woman was with her family in a white sedan inside the drive-through tiger enclosure attraction at Badaling Wildlife World when the car came to a stop. Another woman, sitting in the passenger side, got out of the vehicle and walked around to the driver's side. That's when a tiger attacked the woman while she had her back turned and started to drag her away.

The male driver and a woman in the backseat both exited the car and ran after the tiger.

The woman who had been dragged away survived the attack but the woman who came to her rescue was killed trying to help her.

According to reports, the zoo was subsequently closed and is now under investigation.
