2 Killed, 5 Others Injured In South Philadelphia Shooting, Stabbing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) -- A domestic dispute in South Philadelphia ended with three people stabbed and three people shot, one fatally. Police say the incident may have also spurred another deadly shooting nearby.

The triple shooting happened on the 2100 block of Bailey Terrace, just after 9:30 p.m. Monday. Police say a 26-year old man who was stabbed in his arm shot two women and a man.

Police say the 42-year-old woman was shot and killed outside her apartment.

The two other people, a 51-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, were shot and injured. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police say two other people were stabbed during this incident, a 40-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man. They were treated at the hospital.

"Just before the shooting, we know at least one male, 26 years of age, showed up at the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a stab wound to his arm," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said. "Police did an investigation. They did a really good job. They took a witness to the shooting... where the 26-year-old was stabbed and he was positively identified by the witness as the shooter."

The second shooting happened about two hours later, and just half a block away from the first scene. Authorities say it may have been an act of retaliation. Police say a 24-year-old man was shot and killed execution-style.
