Woman In Critical Condition After Being Stabbed In Head In Overbrook, Philadelphia Police Say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Gunfire and a stabbing in Philadelphia's Overbrook neighborhood. Police say a woman was stabbed in the head on the 5500 block of Jefferson Street around 2 a.m. Sunday.

We're told that woman is in critical condition.

According to police, the victim and her husband were walking when they saw a group of men and women fighting. When the victim's husband attempted to break up the fight he was punched in the face and knocked to the ground. That is when he said he heard loud bangs that he thought were gunshots, and saw the victim on the ground bleeding heavily from her face.

Investigators also found shell casings near the crime scene, but they don't believe anyone was shot.

So far, no arrests have been made.
