Woman Found With Throat Slashed In Kensington

By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating after a woman is found on a street in Kensington with a slashed throat.

The victim was found laying on Frankford Avenue near East Cambria Street by two women, who called police around 3 a.m.

Officers transported the woman to Temple University Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says she had a 12-inch cut across her throat.

"She was unable to speak because of this injury. She had no identification on her so she is a Jane Doe right now."

Small says investigators are hoping surveillance video from businesses in the area will provide some clues to help them find the person responsible.
