Police Charge Woman For Loaded Gun Found In Purse At Philly Airport

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A female is in police custody after investigators say a loaded semi-automatic handgun was found in her purse at Philadelphia International Airport Wednesday morning.

According to investigators, Transportation Security Administration scanners found a loaded .45 caliber Glock in 53-year-old Kathryn Spiropoulos' purse during a search at a security checkpoint.

The firearm was loaded with a magazine containing ten live rounds.

Spiropoulos, of Ewing Township, New Jersey, also had a credit card shaped object that folded into a knife in her purse.

She did not have a permit to carry.

Spiropoulos was immediately taken into police custody and questioned.

She has been arrested and charged with Violations of the Uniform Firearms Act.
