Wolf Holds Cash Edge With 7 Weeks Left In Campaign

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Democrat Tom Wolf is heading into the final seven weeks of Pennsylvania's gubernatorial election with a $1.5 million cash advantage over the Republican he's trying to unseat, Gov. Tom Corbett.

The campaigns disclosed the figures to The Associated Press on Sunday for the three-month reporting period that ended Sept. 15.

Full reports for the period, including details on contributors, are due to the state elections bureau Tuesday.

Wolf's campaign says it raised $9.6 million and spent more than $6.2 million in the period, leaving it with almost $6.5 million. Corbett's campaign says it raised and spent just over $8 million, leaving it with almost $4.8 million.

Total campaign spending has surpassed $60 million, including the three candidates Wolf beat in May's four-way Democratic Party primary election.

The election is Nov. 4.
