With Your Help, Mayor Nutter Wants To Reward Outstanding City Employees

By Pat Loeb

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Have you ever dealt with a Philadelphia city employee and found they were unusually nice and helpful?

If so, the Mayor Nutter would like you to nominate them for the Dilworth Award. But hurry -- nominations close today.

Sure, public employees get kicked around a lot, but the Mayor says they are, by and large, hard-working and conscientious and, in some cases, outstanding:

"I get letters and notes from people all the time telling me about the extraordinary efforts that some of our employees have gone through to complete a task, really take something from start to end and really gone about and beyond the general call of duty."

So Nutter created the Dilworth Award four years ago. This year, there will be two new categories -- including one for customer service.
