PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- With the first overall pick the Phillies selected OF Mickey Moniak, 18.

Moniak attended La Costa Canyon High School in California.

Moniak is regarded as one of the top bats in high school across the nation. He stands at 6'2" 185 lbs.

In high school, Moniak posted a .435 batting average and seven home runs in 97 at bats. He also swiped 19 bases.
