With DNC Over, Real Work Begins For Democratic Party

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Democratic Party made history last night, nominating the first woman for president. Now the focus is Election Day.

"We all know what we have to do."

Pennsylvania Delegate and State Senator Daylin Leach says Hillary Clinton's nomination has energized party leaders and today they're ready to make phone calls, write letters and knock on doors.

"If we get our voters out we win the state easily."

The latest polls show that Clinton has a nine point lead over Donald Trump in Pennsylvania. But Dwight Evans, the Democratic Nominee for the 2nd Congressional District says work is needed up and down the ticket.

"Yes we must get Hillary Clinton elected, but we must win the United States Senate and gain more seats in the house."

He says their goal is to make sure Democrats trump Republicans in November.
