Wilmington Woman Charged With 5th DUI Offense

NEWARK, DEL (CBS) -- A Wilmington, Delaware woman is facing a drunk driving charge for a fifth time.

The latest stems from an incident which occurred around 1:00 p.m. Friday when police say a state trooper saw the driver of Ford Focus, later identified as 54-year-old Ann Baker, blow a red light at the intersection of Harmony and Green Ridge Roads.

Police say the trooper pulled the car over and immediately detected the odor of alcohol. After failing a DUI test, Baker was arrested, and an inquiry into her driving record revealed four previous drunk driving convictions dating back to 1987.

Baker was charged with 5th Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, Failure to Have Insurance in Possession, Expired Tags, and Failure to Stop at a Red Light.

She was later released after posting $10,000 secured bail.
