William Glackens Exhibit At The Barnes Foundation

By R.J. McKay

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Peg Zminda, Acting Executive Director of the Barnes Foundation, shared an overview of the William Glackens exhibit.

"[It's] The first comprehensive survey of William Glackens' work since 1966. The exhibition shows more than 80 paintings, there are works in the exhibition that have never been publicly exhibited before, and there are also others that have rarely, if ever, been seen," said Zminda.

Zminda also talked about the relationship between Glackens and Barnes.

"[Glackens] was a student at Central High, which is where he met our founder, Albert Barnes; he went to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. For the Barnes, in particular, the hometown appeal of William Glackens as an artist is really important," said Zminda.
