Whitehall Elementary To Reopen In January After Discovery Of Mold

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) -- A South Jersey elementary school closed for two months due to a mold problem will reopen after the Christmas holidays. But it is unclear what will happen at a second school in the same district with the same problem.

The Monroe Township School District, on its website, has informed parents of children assigned to Whitehall Elementary that classes will resume on January 2nd. That does not mean the mold problem has been totally cleaned.

Some Schools To Reopen After Mold Discovery In Monroe Township 

In addition, it's unclear when work might be completed enough to allow a return to classes at Holly Glen Elementary.

Four other district schools are open and students at the closed schools have been attending classes elsewhere since early October.

District Superintendent Charles Earling has not returned several phone calls seeking comment on the situation.
