What's Cooking on 1060: New Center City Ventures, and a Lambertville Fest

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (CBS) --  Hai Street Kitchen has opened at 32 South 18th Street, near Chestnut, in center city.  General manager Nick Muzyczka (top photo) says you choose your own ingredients for what he calls a Japanese burrito.

"We roll it all up in a nori wrap, so it does resemble a sushi roll, except it's a giant Japanese burrito," he explains.  And we also offer bowls."

Chef Marc Vetri has quietly opened a new dining room and demonstration kitchen in the floor above his restaurant Vetri, at 1312 Spruce Street, in center city.   But so far, he admits, his plans for his brand-new space is still being developed.

"We're gonna figure out a name," he tells What's Cooking.  "Maybe the Cooking School at Vetri, or Something at Vetri, I don't know."

But he says the space will be put to a number of different uses:

"We're going to open it up to wine dinners, we're going to have private events here, we're going to have chefs come in from all over the place, we're going to teach lessons here, whatever.  The sky's the limit!"

The first-ever "Nitefare" takes place in Lambertville, NJ, on Thursday, June 12th, from 5pm to 10pm.

Rob Mitchell, co-promoter of this event and owner of The Cow and The Curd food truck, says it'll be a food festival sort of be like the Night Markets in Philadelphia.

"Nitefare is an evening of celebrating Lambertville and its vibrant epicurean lifestyle," he says.
