Triple shooting outside bar in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood leaves 3 injured, police say
A triple shooting in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood late Friday night has left three people injured.
Police said officers responded to the Moonlight Lounge on the 6800 block of Limeklin Pike just before midnight for reports of shots fired.
When they arrived on scene they found a 54-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Responding officers rushed him to Jefferson Einstein Hospital. Philadelphia Police Inspector D F Pace told CBS News Philadelphia the man was in "very critical" condition.
Shortly after that, two additional gunshot victims arrived at Einstein by private vehicle. One man, a 35-year-old, and been shot in the hip, and a 22-year-old man was shot in the right hand. The younger man drove them both to the hospital. The 35-year-old went into surgery and police didn't know his condition at this time.
Police said the incident stemmed from a fight inside the bar involving several people who have not been identified, and at least one person pulled out a handgun and began firing shots. Police are still investigating the possibility that there were multiple shooters.
At least one firearm was recovered.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the PPD tipline at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
