Wells Fargo, SEPTA Up Security After Paris Terror Attacks
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- After the attacks in Paris, the Wells Fargo Center is increasing security.
Fans were asked to use patience during Monday night's Sixers game if getting through security took a little longer than usual.
And although specific security changes weren't publicly released, fans took notice of the police presence- if for no other reason that a peace of mind.
"Feel very safe. So no second thoughts about coming here? No. not at all," James Brady tells Eyewitness News.
Brady brought his 10-year-old son to the game- but the killings in France and the fear they raise- became a topic of a father-son talk.
"We talked about it on the way down. They talked about it at school. I reassured him Wells Fargo is taking proper precautions."
Since Friday, Septa police have stepped up patrols. Manpower has been increased, especially during peak travel times and big events like Eagles games.
"We need the public's support. They are our eyes and ears," says Septa Police Inspector Steve Harold.
Harold says there are no known credible threats, but reminds us all if we see anything suspicious don't hesitate.
He contends riders can be helpful in preventing or stopping criminal activity.
"If they feel uneasy about it, We would prefer to investigate their complaint. Call 911," Harold tells Eyewitness News.
