Pleasant weekend ahead in Philadelphia area, fall officially arrives Monday. Here's the weather forecast.
What a beautiful end to summer! The weather in the Philadelphia region this weekend will feature plenty of sunshine, with seasonable temperatures in the upper 70s on Saturday and the mid-70s on Sunday.
Saturday's bright blue skies give way to partly sunny skies on Sunday as scattered high clouds filter into the region on Sunday.
We'll have great weather for the 2-0 Eagles game Sunday at the Linc as they host the 2-0 Rams for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
Fall officially arrives at 2:19 p.m. on Monday with highs in the upper 70s and partly cloudy skies. It's not quite sweater and boot weather yet.
Summer tries to crash the first full day of fall on Tuesday with highs in the low-to-mid 80s, increasing clouds and a chance of scattered showers later in the day.
Stray showers may hang around on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with partly cloudy skies and a return to the 70s on all three days.
We need rain, but any showers this week will not be enough to water the lawn or plants. We are already abnormally dry across the region with below average rainfall this month.
Fall foliage
For all you leaf peepers, this may be a beautiful weekend outdoors but the bright fall foliage in southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware is currently non-existent.
Give it another two weeks and by early October the leaves should be changing in the Poconos. Several weeks after that the Lehigh Valley and areas west of the city will begin changing.
By late October, the vibrant colors will pop up around the city.
