By Bill Wine

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- New attractions dominated foot traffic at the nation's multiplexes over the movie weekend.

Moviegoers rode along with Ride Along as the new comedy pairing Kevin Hart and Ice Cube earned an estimated $41-million in its weekend debut for an easy first-place finish.

The runnerup was last weekend's box office champ, Lone Survivor, with Mark Wahlberg. It took in $23-million.

Third place went to another new release, the animated comedy, The Nut Job, which opened by taking in $21-million.

And in fourth place was the debuting espionage thriller, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, starring Chris Pine in the title role. Its take was $17-million.

Overall, industry-wide totals were significantly higher than those of a year ago.
