PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On a slow movie weekend, the focus switched from Focus.
After one weekend in first place at the box office, the Will Smith con-artist thriller, Focus, dropped to the runner-up spot, taking in an estimated $10-million in its second weekend.
It was replaced at the top by the science fiction thriller, Chappie, with Hugh Jackman and Sigourney Weaver., which took the crown with an opening-weekend take of $13-million.
The third spot went to the debuting comedy-drama sequel, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, with Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, and Richard Gere, which earned just under $9-million.
Meanwhile, the weekend's other new mainstream release, Unfinished Business, the business-trip comedy starring Vince Vaughn, took in just under $5-million, landing it in tenth place.
Overall, industry-wide totals were much lower than those of a year ago.
