Weekend Box Office Report: Another Super Weekend For 'American Sniper'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The runaway hit, American Sniper, made it three weekends in a row in first place at the box office by earning an estimated $32-million, setting a record for Super Bowl Weekend.

The distant runner-up was the kidflick, Paddington, with $9-million.

Third was the debuting teen time-travel fantasy, Project Almanac, which totaled $8-million.

Fourth place went to another new attraction, the racially-themed drama, Black or White, with Kevin Costner and Octavia Spenser. It took in $7-million.

And the holdover, The Boy Next Door, rounded out the top five with $6-million.

Overall, industry-wide totals were well above those of a year ago.
