Week 4: Eagles Studs And Duds

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles' Week 4 loss to the Redskins was eerily similar, unfortunately, to their Week 1 loss to the Falcons. Both one score losses, on the road, in games where they couldn't move the ball until the second half, left multiple game-changing plays on the field, and missed key kicks to potentially secure a win.

Disgusting.

Anyway, the Eagles are 1-3, and here are your three studs and duds of their 23-20 loss to the Redskins.

Duds

3. Walter Thurmond

I'll preface this by saying Thurmond has been one of the Eagles' most reliable players through four game, and he didn't have an awful game Sunday, but the 3rd-and-19 draw I just can't get over.

2. Nelson Agholor

Sure, he made a nice catch, but he has underwhelmed tremendously through four games. The dropped exchange, fumble, whatever you want to call it after his big play was brutal and then an illegal formation on Agholor cost the Eagles a touchdown.

Agholor needs to be on the line of scrimmage.

1. CALEB STURGIS

When your new kicker leaves four points on the board in a three-point loss you just can't get over it. Sturgis missed two 33-yarders, one field-goal and one extra-point. The Eagles lost 23-20. So brutal. And as bad as it is, the Eagles are two field-goals and an extra-point away from 3-1. Gross.

Studs

3. Malcolm Jenkins

Jenkins continues to be, arguably, the team's best all-around player. He just doesn't make mistakes and continues to make plays. Jenkins was tied with Bennie Logan with nine tackles, the game-high.

2. Riley Cooper

What? He caught a 62-yard touchdown.

1. Bennie Logan

Logan was a complete run stopper on his own. Just a monster up front, recording a game-high nine tackles and a QB hit.
