Wednesday's Child: Jade

By Larry Kane
Produced by Timothy McLaughlin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) —- When we met Jade recently, she sang her favorite song for us: "Titanium," by David Guetta, featuring Sia.

She said the lyrics (..."I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose...") have a lot of meaning for her.

"Like, nothing can get through me."

This resilient 13-year-old has a lot of interests, especially arithmetic.

"You gotta know how to count your money!" she notes, wisely.

Jade also loves designing clothes.

"I make my own designs," she says.  "It's really cool."

Her social worker, Pearl Knox, calls Jade a "chameleon" who can fit in anywhere.

"I think that Jade can bring a lot to a family, because she does have a very good disposition," Knox says.  "She's pleasant, she's helpful, and she's always smiling."
