Weather Outlook: Winds To Die Down Tonight, Tracking Showers For Friday

By Kate Bilo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A large brush fire continues to burn in Ocean County this evening. It has been two days of elevated fire danger across the Delaware Valley, with red flag warnings both today and yesterday. But as we continue into the evening hours, some good news for fire crews battling the blazes in the Garden State. Winds will die down rapidly this evening into tonight, eventually becoming calm. And as a system approaches from the west, we can expect more moisture in the air leading to less risky conditions.

That system moving in from the west will not reach us until late in the day on Friday. Showers will develop during the time of the evening commute and may continue through the majority of Friday night, meaning you will need the rain gear if you have plans out on the town. Highs will be in the mid 60s on Friday, which is seasonable for this time of the year. On Saturday more sunshine and a high closer to 70° but we will also see the risk for a few showers with a secondary frontal boundary passing through in the afternoon.

Beyond that, it's slightly cooler but sunny and pleasant for Sunday and Monday. Enjoy that sunshine, because a damp chilly pattern begins next Tuesday and looks to continue through the majority of next week.
