Weather: EF-1 Tornado Confirmed In Chester County

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It is now confirmed that a tornado touched down yesterday in Chester County on Tuesday afternoon.
Around 2:11pm, an EF-1 tornado packing winds of up to 95 mph briefly dropped down in Honey Brook, PA. While there have been numerous damage reports from this dangerous storm, there thankfully have yet to be any confirmed injuries. The rain from Tuesday's storms also brought the final total for to 8.88" in Philadelphia, a whopping 5.40" above average for the month.
Meanwhile, things have quieted down across the Delaware Valley. Wednesday saw mostly sunny skies, with warm but average temperatures. It was a bit on the humid side, but not too uncomfortable.
A disturbance will pass to the south on Thursday, and while Philadelphia will start off with some sun, clouds will build and a few showers could even make it as far north as the city. It won't be the best day if you are starting your 4th of July weekend down the shore, but conditions will improve. Friday may see a few clouds in the morning, but skies will clear and the weekend will kick off on a nice note. Other than an afternoon storm on Saturday, the weekend is looking dry.
