WEATHER: Snowy Saturday Night

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories remain in effect and low pressure continues to track through the mid-Atlantic tonight.

The storm has set up a little farther south, keeping the colder air in place longer and shift the heaviest snow southward.  Expect snow, possible heavy at times through the evening with 1"/hr. snow fall rates dropping the visibility under 1/2 mile.  Travel will be hazardous tonight with snow covered roads.  Expect 3-6" of snow around Philadelphia with some isolated 6"+ spots.  The Poconos and far Southern NJ will be on the lower end of that range.

Late tonight, warmer air will slowly change to the snow over to some freezing rain and plain rain from south to north, as temperatures slowly rise above freezing.  Any rain showers will end very early Sunday morning with some clearing for the afternoon with highs in the lower 40s.
