Weather: Snow On The Way

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An Alberta Clipper will move through the Delaware Valley Wednesday. But this is no ordinary "Clipper".

It is forecast to redevelop off the Delmarva coast Wednesday. This will enhance moisture fed into South Jersey, where we could see some 4" snowfall totals.  Elsewhere, a general 1-3" of snow is expected, (1-2" in Philadelphia)

The snow moves in between noon and 3pm, from west to east.

The steadiest snow will fall during the evening commute, between 5pm and 8pm.  With temperatures around freezing, it will be a wet, sloppy, snow that will reduce visibility at times and make for wet and slick roads.

As the Low Pressure System moves Northeast, the snow will end after 9pm.

Thursday and Friday will be "quiet" as fair weather high pressure moves in.  After that the forecast gets "tricky" and interesting.

Our computer guidance has been consistent with the development of a Coastal Storm, that would impact us Saturday.

This time, snow, ice and rain could fall.

We'll keep you posted!
